Man so much has happened and I'm not sure what I've shared, and what I haven't. So my last week in Woodville was really great. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the lessons with Sean, but I was able to go back for his baptism this last Saturday. I'm so proud of him and I know that he's going to be such an awesome young man and Deacon.

So I'm now serving in the Orange South area, I'm covering the inner city on a bike, and I'm now district leader. It's super fun, I have a very important role as district leader to make sure that I have a can opener if a hurricane comes. I'm not exactly sure what else to talk about because there are so many things that have happend. We're teaching a ton of people, and we're finding even more to teach as we're out on out bikes. seriously we've biked about 90 miles this last week and my legs are sure feeling it.

My new companion Elder Dowdle is super great too. He's helping me learn how to use my time a lot more effectively. This Area is amazing too. Honestly it's been a full day every day this last week and I'm super exhausted, but that's a good problem to have out in the mission.

There's a ton of great things I've been learning, but one thing I've been learning a lot more this transfer has been the redemptive power of the Atonement. Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins, he has interposed Divine Justice for us, all he asks is that we follow him. I know that true and everlasting happiness comes only in and through Jesus Christ and I can't wait to share this with the next person I meet.

So until next time, have a great week!

Spiritual Slap

Hey Guys it's been a really awesome week, next week is transfers so you'll hear from me Tuesday. so what happened this week?

Tuesday: we were doing service out at Brother Degarmo's and he's telling us about a lady that lives by him that wants to be baptized. So we went down and talked with her, her name is Vivian Crosby and she's ready and down to get baptized. So near May 4th we'll have another member of the Woodville branch. Speaking of which Sean is going to get baptized this next Saturday and I'm so excited for him

Wednesday: we got a call from our Zone Leaders and they told us to come down to Beaumont for the day. So we got to go down to Beaumont, eat french toast, and tract on Lamar University campus. We got to wear normal clothes with our badges and talk to all the collage kids. I taught a lesson on the plan of salvation with Elder Mills and it was really awesome. That night we made the
Zone Leader calls and it was really cool to talk to the other district leaders and hear how their districts were doing.

Thursday: Elder Furphy and I tracted Lamar again and talked to some of the band kids and the broadcasting team. Then we went over to interviews and talked with President Hewlett. That was really awesome, we came back and taught a lesson with Sean.

Friday: we had a really amazing district training about how we can be leaders on the mission in the branches/wards we serve in. Then I went on another exchange with Elder Walter

Saturday: Elder Walter and I ran into this really cool guy in the Walmart parking lot and he asked some really inspired questions. We talked to a couple of other people and then swapped back with Elder Furphy. The rest of the day we had super bad weather. There was a tornado watch and a hail storm. At the end of the day though the storm cleared up and we helped some people move in to their home.

Sunday: we had an amazing fast and testimony meeting and we had several people show up to church this week. We have a member who's been less active for most of the time I've been here, but is coming back and bringing a couple people with him, its so great! Then we had a fireside where Elder Furphy and I talked about the Book of Mormon and the spirit you feel when you read it.

This last week has been such a spiritual blast I've really begun to understand just how important the Savior really is in my life. Now it's something I've always know, but it's simply become more real to me everyday. I know that the Savior has blessed my life and that it is through him that I can change and become new. I love him very much and I hope you all have a great rest of your day!

Time is Running Out

Well, who's excited for the second coming? Because it sounds like it's coming soon.

This last week has been a complete blast and it's gone by real fast. This weekend has the best stories so buckle up.

So all week we prepared for a family history booth and and it was really great, so naturally it rained out and we packed up early. But we talked to some amazing people and had a great time while doing it. I missed the Saturday morning session because of it and I'll say this, whether it's a vacation, work, much needed rest, or a family history booth, it's never worth passing up conference. So I'm glad we got rained out, because I got to watch the afternoon session and listen to Holland tell everyone to come to church and be reverent. (I loved Holland's talk).

Priesthood session was also really incredible and I loved the chastisement I received. By the way, for those of you guys that feel bad about the chastisement you may have felt this last conference change your attitude to a more positive one because chastisement is what shapes us into the beautiful creatures God sees us for. I know that I've had to change my attitude and I will eventually love myself for it.

Sunday I got to watch all of conference I loved all of it! Did I blink out during Gong's talk? Yes. But can you blame me, I started counting sheep. I really loved Christofferson's talk about service, it really made me think about all the service I've done and the service I'm doing right now to prepare the world for heaven. Every time I heard President Nelson speak I really felt the spirit, and I loved how he announced the temples this time.

I can go on and on about conference and how much I loved it but what I want to share with yall is what stood out to me. It is no coincidence all the talks blended so well together, and I think that Rasband's analogy of the fortresses combines everything together. President Nelson is our prophet and he sees the oncoming attack from the adversary, and he has warned us "time is running out." Elder Christofferson invited us to help others, serve others, or build up their fortresses. Many others shared how the Come Follow Me program will help us build up our fortresses from the oncoming attack.

So let us build our fortresses (if you don't know how listen to conference) like the Nephites of old, so when the adversary attacks they will be like the Lamanites, outmatched.

April 1, 2019

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been emailing back that much, I've been spending a lot of my time calling home so there's my excuse. Other than that I've just been having a better last little week.

Tuesday - we wrestled with goats and shoved vitamins down their throats. that was honestly really fun, though the goats smelled terrible. Tuesday was actually rather sad because we sent off Noah Bishop but he's going where the Lord has called him and now he's at the Guatemalan MTC and is now in full immersion with everyone speaking Spanish.

Wednesday - we taught some of the primary boys the 3rd article of faith, we memorized, had pretzels, and played ninja. We also had Zone Conference this last week and it was amazing. we talked about how we should try to connect to people spirit to spirit and that we should explain through our testimonies how we feel. We're planning on reading the book of Mormon in 65 days again. We started yesterday if any of y'all want to join along.

Thursday - we were biking around and talking to people. We ran out of miles on our cars so all this week we were out on bikes.

Friday - we had district council which was pretty good.

Saturday - we got up and biked in the rain. I wish I had a picture but I got drenched. We also had a lesson later that day and when we showed up they were having a crawfish boil. So I've now had crawfish, and I had a lot of it too.

Sunday - we had a great sacrament meeting. one of the lines that I loved most was "make sure that you put your shoulder to the right wheel." I really liked that one because we really can put our shoulder to a lot of wheels, but there's only one wheel that will bring us happiness.
