Recap and Conclusion

We've Hit the finalè of my full-time missionary service, which officially closes this week. Now life shifts into another adventure. So what has happened the last two years of my life.

Companions!
Elder Ure
This man kicked it off. Service, naps, McDonalds planning, B-ball in the streets, anti at the store, and Missionary work all the time. I couldn't have asked for a better Trainer and friend. Thanks paps!

Elder Seal

This guy and I threw down on the pickleball courts, tamed the Dogs, and got some folks to the font. Good work Pollo boy!

Elder Furphy

Player 1 coming in. Elder Furphy and I had a great time and got it done. Even when I lost my voice for a week this man got us out and testifying of Christ. Thanks for the love my friend!

Elder Dowdle

This fellow was a Missionary! I leaned so much about how to be a disciple of Jesus Christ with this man! He really taught me in such a way that I discovered more of my potential. He let me grow even if it was hard for him. What an example!

Elder Dyer
Ah the silent one. This man and I caught the wave and saw so much happen, Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Miricles back-to-back-to-back, Etc... Popped tires, pouring rain, nothing could stop us two! It was over way too fast with my friend here.

Elder Cook
Man we went through a lot together. Both of us busted our ankles got some folks to church. My favorite quote from this guy was "I can do more with 90% and God on my side than I could ever do with 100% on my own."

Elder Maires
My First-Born! Elder Maires and I got it done. I got to show him the ropes and he picked it up super well. Flood clean up, covering 2 areas, and helping others find their way. I'd say we did some good work.

Elder Borg
The Idaho Spud. Elder Borg and I had a ton of fun finding people out in the woods. Lots of learning and super good studies with the diffusers hotboxing the room. Great holiday season!

Elder Brabec
Covid! The virus snuck up on us two. Thank goodness we had an incredible ward to watch out for us. We'll get a turtle next time man.

Elder Morris
Lock-down! Elder Morris and I got to coup ourselves up in the penthouse suite and have some fun. Lots of art, emotions, and generally going crazy. I wouldn't have wanted to be quarantined with anyone else bud!

Elder Shaw
Elder shaw and I couldn't agree on anything, it was so great! Seriously we got to experience the love of God for each other and the people in the area. This guys was my Nephi for calling people.

Elder To'o
Elder to'o and I got thrashed. Lockdown part 2, sorta baptisms, and huricain cleanup. What a wild ride!

Elder Smith
The man to finish the Job. Elder smith was very hard working and was increadible at helping me finish strong.

Thanks to all of you for an amazing 2 years!

Converts!
Uele and Ula
This family was so wonderful to get to know. They always made sure that we were fed. I loved when ula told me how the Book of Mormon was helping her be a better mother. Powerful.

Litt'l Shawn
This goon. He was so much fun to know and teach. Everytime you thought he wasn't absorbing the lessons he'd surprise you with the primary answer! Good luck there kiddo.

Betty, Willy, Shaquitta
What a faithful family. This family pushed through barriers and persecution to follow what they felt was right. One of my favorite moments was them giving away a while tub full of tea when they found out about the word of wisdom. Love these guys

Cindy Teneyuque
This was a fruit of Betty Andrus. We found her by Betty reading the Book of Mormon aloud at a washinteria. Cindy was so accepting of everything. She was so real and down to earth with a heavenly way of loving others. Thanks for the giggles cindy.

Karen Beaumont
This kiddo was awesome! Bayblades, knives, Ross family home evenings, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What else do you need?

Billy
This guy has the greatest amount patience I know. He had to wait too long to get baptized, but in the end it all worked out. Thanks for pushing through even when times got tough. I had a great time getting to know my friend Billy!

Ruben and Eden
I really just walked into this one. These two were awsome for getting baptized even if there was a virus pandemic. I mostly met them over zoom but they gave us the most addictive animal cracker dip.

Mission Presidents!
President and Sister Hewlett

Thank you so much for taking care of me President and sister Hewlett! I learned so much from these two. They truly fulfilled the role of parents for a time in my life. They taught me how to teach, how to find, how to be obedient, how to love others, how to plan, and so many other things. Thank you, thank you!

President and Sister Larkin

My friends President and Sister Larkin, these guys came in at such a perfect time to help us through the new transition of missionary work. They may not know why they were called during this time, but they have been perfect in my eyes.

Christ's hand!
Wherefore can we (I) doubt...

I wanted this part to be a list of all the ways I've seen God in my mission. However there truly are too many to list off, from a ward mission leader with a hospitalized father in bountiful, to the subtle yet real feelings of comfort in hard times. He is real and he loves me!

What More Can I Say?

Wow, what a Rollercoaster of emotions and events. These final moments of this mission have been awe inspiring. After general conference I decided once again to shift my life a little and I loved the experience I gained from it. God really does work by small and simple means.

So what has happened. Well I had an exchange with Elders Dean and Wilkinson which was super fun. We stayed up until like 2 just talking. Then Wednesday we went to the temple to film for a video. While we were there I ran into Elder Borg and Erikson which was perfect because I thought I wasn't going to see those two before I left. We did another survey which didn't turn out as well as the last. But that was OK we had some fun while we did it. We also had zone conference where I got to bear my testimony, that felt good. Then yesterday we had David come to church and my friend Max asked us a ton of fun questions about the old testiment. (that's sweet because I didn't know he was studying the Scriptures...) We also had Elder Rascon surprise us with a visit and he invited all the missionaries into a meeting to talk to us. It was very spiritual.
All together I'm so very greatful for these moments. I've learned so much about my savior Jesus Christ and while there's so many things I want to share, so many experiences I've had, what more can I say? I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he lives; I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was translated by Joseph Smith by the gift and power of God. Joseph Smith truly is a prophet of God and I know that President Nelson is the prophet today. Again what more can I say? I know that it's true.
Keep up the hope there are wonders ahead.

Let God Prevail

 This last week was increadible!

We taught another lesson with David. He seriously knows the Gospel. We also met my like 23rd black grandma. Her name is Jo and she's a Saint. She takes care of her grandaughter Britney who's been bed-ridden for about 30 years. She's very loving and I can't wait to read more of the Book of Mormon with her.
General Conference was a Joy. Lots of questions answered and answers confirmed. I loved Elder Soares talk on controling your thoughts. I really noticed a lot about Zion and Preparation and as I listened to any word President Nelson spoke I just felt so excited about the future. I know that God prepares us for the trials ahead and that living the Gospel brings revelation from God.
Keep having fun and I'll talk to you next week.

Turn to Him

Lots of ups and downs this week, overall great time. Some highlights were a survey we took at the park, lots of rain, fun videos, jam sessions, and teaching people. My friend David set a goal to get baptized on October 30th and I'm super excited for him. We have lessons with David about once a week, but we don't really need to teach him, he reads the Book of Mormon and finds most of the answers himself.

I'm super excited for General Conference this weekend! I love hearing the talks from all the general authorities and officers. Every 6 months right before general conferance I feel like I'm just in a drought needing some more spiritual uplifting. So I hope everyone has it in their schedule this weekend.
I've studied a lot on the subject of Repentance throughout my whole mission and I still lean new things about it. This last week my studies taught me even more that repentance isnt so much giving up the bad as it is turning more to Christ and following him closer. I loved that answer I got this week because it's an answer I've had before and I'm sure I'll get again.
Also not to get too distracting, but my homecoming talk will be on October 25, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain standard time. It'll be over zoom so be sure to put it on the calandar and I'll be sure to put out the information as soo as I get it. Keep having fun and I'll talk to you next week.
