Hurricane Laura

 Whew this was a week.

All of last week there were missionaries moving around being evacuated from Hurricane Laura. We weren't really involved but know everyone is safe.

So one of my favorite moments this week was my interview with President Larkin. He's a really smart man but also really fun. We talked about his call to be a mission president and the revelation involved with that. I think it's so cool how the leaders of the church receive inspiration. I also snagged a great picture with the Elders and President on the couch.

This weekend we went out to Louisiana to help with the clean up. I got to pass by my old area, Orange TX. Orange didn't take much of a hit, but where we worked, Lake Charles, they got hit really bad. I hope y'all will pray for the people out here. Many have lost everything, but everyone seems to be recovering quickly. I've only worked 2 days and it seems like things are getting cleared fast. We're going to be cleaning up for a couple weeks though.

All is well. I am tired after the weekend clean up. Good things to come.

Yes There's A Hurricane Coming, Yes I'm Fine

Man it's been a crazy last little bit. And by crazy I mean like 23 hours of meh followed by 1 hour of breakneck speed ⛷️.

So my favorite story this week is about my friend Demi. So we ran into her a while back at Walmart. She stopped us and asked if she could get another copy of the Book of Mormon. Fortunately we were carrying one and handed it off to her and snagged her number so we could call her later. Well after a week or so we finally got back in contact with her and shared the first vision with her. The spirit was there so we invited her to get baptized. She said she'd like that so we set a time for it and we're going to start teaching her at the church building. It was a super cool chain of events.
Sorry for the brief email, but keep having fun!

Covenants

Heya guys this last week has been pretty good. We did another deep clean of our apartment, biked around, got some haircuts, I got to have a devotional with my home ward which was super fun! Also we've been starting to make videos for Facebook. We're still in the works but I'm liking what's been started.

So this last week I was reading how covenants are associated with principles and ordinances (like baptism). God sets the terms and we agree to them. It hit me very simply but surely, if I want to "hear him" I need to make and live my covenants. I want guidance and direction in my life and that's why I keep on the covenant path! I love the companionship of the Holy Ghost and if I need to "wend my way" I have an opportunity every week to partake of the Sacrament and renew my covenants.

With the Temples closed it may be hard to remember the covenants we make there, but that does not stop us from living them. I know that if we do all we can to live the promises made in the temple and reflect on how we can do better, we can still receive the blessings that come from regular temple attendance.

Keep having fun and keep up the hope.

Press Forward Saints

Heya guys this last week we had another transfer but no one in my district moved around so nothings really changed for me. We've had some great calls with people this week. I love reading the Book of Mormon over the phone. I still miss in person, but reading aloud together brings a great spirit to my heart.

So my favorite story this last week happened on the weekend. Saturday morning we got to work and found a lot of success which was great! But then from 12-6:30 nothing happened 😩. We had already seen much, but that stretch of time felt so dark. Then after dinner. We had the busiest work of my mission for months⛵. It was Phone calls, to messaging, and both at the same time. It was so crazy and it felt so good!

Don't let the dark of the moment dim the light that is to come. 🎼Press forward, Saints, with steadfast faith in Christ,
With hope’s bright flame alight in heart and mind,
With love of God and love of all mankind.
