Storms

Calm sea's make weak sailors.

I just want to send an email out about my favorite thing about Texas. Neighbors. Mother nature puts southeast Texas in a pickle about every 6 months or so, and when it happens the people are quick to come and help.

I had the opportunity to get out and help those affected by a recent tornado. There were so many volunteers, people cleaning up debris, driving around in 4-wheelers with food, people parked on the side of the road with signs saying "free hot dogs and burgers." There may have been more than 10 people gathered together, but I enjoyed the love that was shown.

Rise Up

Hey so these days of Corona are definitely a refiners fire and crucible. There's a lot of sorrow and grief, people have died and are expected to die. The world pandemic has not only caused harm to us with sickness, but has also kept us in our homes giving us, in many ways, mental sickness from social distancing.

How incredible it is that we have a living prophet today that's encouraged us to listen for the Savior's voice in this tumultuous time. Jesus Christ lives, he is involved with our lives today, so we need to listen to his guiding voice.

I know that the Savior is involved in my life and that he hears my prayers. Many of which were answered in this last general conference. I received much, and I wish to share one of these answers that I received. It is this, "rise up." I felt a great desire and hope to be better, so I plan to rise up. It's hard being inside all day. I like talking to people. And I'm sure there's a lot of things that are hard for you guys to endure in some way or another. Don't let those be an excuse to be idle. Rise up. If it at times it seems too hard, ask Heavenly Father for help, he's only a prayer away. And this Friday April 10th we will unitedly fast for Heavenly Father's Help. I cannot wait to stand with others as I participate and give my fast and offerings to the Lord.

Verily I say unto you all: Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations; -D&C 115:5

Rise up, O men of God!
Rise up! Rise up! Rise up!

Let us remember during this Easter season that "He is Risen"
