Sprained Ankle and Donuts

So last Thursday while playing basketball I sprained my ankle so that put a big halt on the work this weekend. but we had some sweet things happen this last week.

We had interviews with president Hewlett. Sister Hewlett had us go buy donuts for everyone that was super fun!

we also had a super great lesson with Gloria this last week and she's making her way to get the to the temple this Friday, Betty too.

Anywho today's been really crazy because I had to go get my Ankle checked out but I should be good this next week. keep having fun guys!

Its been a cool first week of the Transfer. Not a crazy amount has happened this last week, but we did get back in with a family that has been progressing pretty well. They've been sick this last little bit, but they've been reading the Book of Mormon and they're excited to get to church. So that was an amazing part of my last week.

I should probably give y'all a run down of who's in my district now. Elder Cook (my companion) is from Mesa Arizona and loves the outdoors. Elder Setoki Is from Hawaii (I don't remember which island) he's super good at basket ball. Elder James is from Riverton Utah and is insane at pole-vaulting .

My spiritual thought for the week is about genuine Love. Christ taught the the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love your neighbor (Click here to watch video) I've really loved the people here in Orange, and I'm grateful that it's my calling to preach the Gospel here and bring them eternal happiness. It makes me happy that I have this opportunity to serve and to love others.

anywho, I hope you guys all have a great week and I'll write to you next time!

Barry

Well its transfer day so I got a new companion Elder Cook! I'm probably not going to write much this week but just to let everyone know Hurricane Barry did not hit my area. But we did get a really heavy rain storm that we called Barry. It was super fun and super wet.

Hiking Preparation

It's been an amazing last week! We've been hitting the grind. Elder Dyer and I and we've had some amazing things happening. We started teaching a new family that's awesome and we've been getting some other really cool things going.

The lesson that I've been learning this last week has mostly been about Mountains to Climb. There's a good talk by Elder Eyring about it, but what I felt like I've been learning comes from the title itself, "Mountain(s)." It's not just one big trial that we face in our lives, It's several large trials that happen in Gods time. This last week had had several trials, but they only made the amazing things that happened better by contrast.

So how do we prepare to climb these Mountains. I remember when I was preparing to Climb King's Peak I decided to prepare myself to backpacking, so I took a day and walked with my Backpack and gear. I probably just went for a short walk and came home because I did not walk around near enough to prepare myself for that hike. I was exausted for most of the Hike and I didn't enjoy it as much as I could had I prepared. This is how it can feel when Spiritual Mountains come and we have not prepared well enough, we can get over these mountains, but to enjoy them we need to spiritually prepare.

The steps are familiar they are 1. Pray earnestly daily 2. Study the Scriptures with Purpose 3. worship within church. all of these are the preparations you can take to prepare for spiritual Mountains. I feel like my experience with preparing for Kings Peak is much like how we prepare sometimes. Just going for a short walk instead of a short hike is much like reading the scriptures instead of studying them. I encourage you guys to see where you can improve in your preparations so that your Mountains will be enjoyable to climb.

I love teaching the Gospel and I love the trials Heavenly Father gives me that make me grow, because I love the person I'm becoming. I cant wait to write to you guys next Tuesday so until then have a great week!!!

Temple with Betty, Willie, Cheaquetta, and the Orange Youth!!

Last week's letter
Sorry I forgot to Email Home last week... But hey now you get a longer email with more Content! (I'll still probably keep it pretty short.)

It's been really hot and stormy out here in Texas. And when I men hot It feel like 110 pretty much everyday and it's not going to get any cooler any time soon. We're planning a temple trip this Saturday and I'm so excited! We're going to try and get Betty, Willie, and Cheaquetta there with some family names and I'll make sure you get pictures of it!

We watch the Restoration movie with Gloria and it was so much fun watching it with her.
Gloria is a recent convert who loves Joseph
Smith, so showing her the restoration movie was so good for her and us!

If you're looking for a good talk to read, may I suggest "100 percent responsible" by Lynn G Robbins. It ties in so well with the Atonement of Jesus Christ which I've been studying a lot of lately. It gives 19 "Anti-Responsibility traits" which were super fun to learn about. So if you're bored or have a lot of time, go ahead and give it a read.

Sorry I don't have a lot of pictures these last 2 weeks. I guess I took a lot more videos than I did pictures. Keep having a good one and I write to you next week.
