Heya guys, this last week has been all over the place. Also it's the last week of the transfer so pday next week will be on teudsay.
Man oh man, let's kick it off. Last week in Monday we were visiting with some people we just met and the topic of family history was brought up, and long story short we got her signed up to family search with a name inputted for her family tree!
This Tuesday we went to the temple and I got to see my friend Billy Grogan there. It was one of his first times going into the temple and I was so greatful that I got to see him.
Wednesday and thrusday: *shrug*
Friday we had an amazing District Council on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I felt the spirit very strongly and I loved it! We talked of progression and repentance and we looked at the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehites and how they progressed. After that I went on exchanges with Elder Gregory and we had a good time. Might have gotten yelled and chewed out by some crazy people and chased down by a dog, but we had a great time.
This weekend was also fanominal. We had a great Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed fast and testimony meeting this week.
This last little while I've been having all the memories of movies come back into my mind. One particularly was Thor: Ragnarok (probably misspelled) any who. One of the lines in it says "Asgard is a People not a Place." what would happen if we were to apply this quote to our lives, and let's replace "Asgard" with "Zion." Zion in the gospel topics page says
"The word Zion has various meanings in the scriptures. The most general definition of the word is “the pure in heart” (Doctrine and Covenants 97:21). Zion is often used in this way to refer to the Lord’s people or to the Church and its stakes (see Doctrine and Covenants 82:14). It has also been used to refer to specific geographical locations."
so while it is commonly used to describe a where, I love how the first meaning of it is who." Zion is a People not a Place." I've seen so many great examples of the people of Zion on my mission. I've seen so many people who while imperfect are pure in heart. I hope that we may all come to use the Saviors Atonement more in our lives so that we can become more a people of Zion.
I love you guys and I hope you have a great week.
