This week has been super great! We found some new people to teach and I got to meet some more of the Members here in the Lakeshore ward. We got a bit of rain this last little bit too and I'm brought back to my summer in Orange with all of the downpours. I guess that's just Texas 🤷‍♂️.
I'm a lot more settled in this week and my messy desk is proof of that. Studies are back to being increable! Preach My Gospel is super awesome, I've started to apply a lot more of the lessons taught in it and it's helping me become a lot more of a Missionary.

That's about all for this week, I'll try and get more details for next week. Keep having fun

Lakeshore

Man this is a very different place! This last week has been getting to know the area and the members and both are very nice. Wednesday we had to go and get a cavity filled for my new companion Elder Brabec. Then the rest of what we've been doing has just been meeting members and the people out here.

For a fun way to find more people we can teach, we started doing a 5 question survey asking people questions like "do you think it's important to take care of your body?" "do you believe in God?" and so on and so forth. It's been really fun, most people out here are a lot like people back home so it's super welcoming and awesome to talk to them.

Now it has been harder to teach people out here, a lot of people are comfortable and live great lives, perhaps that may be something we all go through in life. We may go through times of prosperity and I say enjoy it. The scriptures do say "if ye keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land."  but always take heed to remember where it all comes from. Don't be like the people of Nephi that are slow to remember God.

"how quick the children of men do forget the Lord their God,"

But look to the Example of Captain Moroni and his Title of liberty, when others around him began to forget God and dissent from the church, he tore up his coat and put these words on it.

"In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children"

I love this Gospel. Everyone I've met that lives it are incredible! And it's all because they remember who helps them. Have a great week and I'll write to you next time

Not So Long Cleveland

Man it seems like I just got to my area and now I'm heading out. I'm being transfered out to Lake shore so there will be a some changes like address and companions. I'll have to write more later to let yall know.

Everything's been going great, I'm sad that I won't get to teach some of the people that we found, but I can't change much about that. Keep having fun and I'll write you later.

Zion

Heya guys, this last week has been all over the place. Also it's the last week of the transfer so pday next week will be on teudsay.

Man oh man, let's kick it off. Last week in Monday we were visiting with some people we just met and the topic of family history was brought up, and long story short we got her signed up to family search with a name inputted for her family tree!

This Tuesday we went to the temple and I got to see my friend Billy Grogan there. It was one of his first times going into the temple and I was so greatful that I got to see him.

Wednesday and thrusday: *shrug*

Friday we had an amazing District Council on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I felt the spirit very strongly and I loved it! We talked of progression and repentance and we looked at the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehites and how they progressed. After that I went on exchanges with Elder Gregory and we had a good time. Might have gotten yelled and chewed out by some crazy people and chased down by a dog, but we had a great time.

This weekend was also fanominal. We had a great Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed fast and testimony meeting this week.

This last little while I've been having all the memories of movies come back into my mind. One particularly was Thor: Ragnarok (probably misspelled) any who. One of the lines in it says "Asgard is a People not a Place." what would happen if we were to apply this quote to our lives, and let's replace  "Asgard" with "Zion." Zion in the gospel topics page says

"The word Zion has various meanings in the scriptures. The most general definition of the word is “the pure in heart” (Doctrine and Covenants 97:21). Zion is often used in this way to refer to the Lord’s people or to the Church and its stakes (see Doctrine and Covenants 82:14). It has also been used to refer to specific geographical locations."

so while it is commonly used to describe a where, I love how the first meaning of it is who." Zion is a People not a Place." I've seen so many great examples of the people of Zion on my mission. I've seen so many people who while imperfect are pure in heart. I hope that we may all come to use the Saviors Atonement more in our lives so that we can become more a people of Zion.

I love you guys and I hope you have a great week.
