Never, Never, Never Give In

Alright so this last week was a blast! We were able to do some service with the Houston food bank which was super fun. It was like a drive through at the church with a line longer than Chick-fil-A at 12. The 24th of July was kinda sad. We made it fun though. For the food we made some getto Disneyland Churros, sushi, and grilled chicken. Also as of this last week quarantine has been lifted a little bit more, we're now able to go and see members as well as visit people on their porches. I can't wait to see people again!

I've been studying a lot of Winston Churchill quotes this last week. I love the heart of the British people during world War 2. It was a dark time for them but it has been said that it was their finest hour. To parallel  that with my mission, it has been a difficult ordeal. Being inside for 2 different transfers has not been fun for me; so I take heart knowing that if I continue on, never giving up, I may join the British people in saying that "this was my finest hour."

Now the quote I loved was this "To improve is to change. So to be perfect is to change often" - Winston Churchill

President Nelson has reminded us that Repentance is change. "The word for repentance in the Greek New Testament is metanoeo. The prefix meta- means “change.” The suffix -noeo is related to Greek words that mean “mind,” “knowledge,” “spirit,” and “breath.” Thus, when Jesus asks you and me to “repent,” He is inviting us to change..."

So in changing this quote we get something truly beautiful. "To improve is to repentTo be perfect is to repent often."

I know that as I have used the gift of repentance daily I have found the greatest self-improvement in my life. This pandemic has be tough, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ swallows it up with the consequence of Joy. I love this work and I hope y'all keep having fun.

-Elder King
